The company was set up in the background of undidived Bengal in Kustia (present day Bangladesh) by the The Saha’s of Amla Sadarpur , a notable family of Zaminders that directed its thrust towards development of Tea. The original setup was in Sahabad in the era 19th century which was later shifted to Calcutta under the name “B. K. Saha & Brothers” in 1922 by Mr. Basanta Kumar Saha, Mr.Sushil Kumar Saha, Mr.Suhrid Kumar Saha &Mr .Sudhanshu Kumar Saha . Since then B. K. Saha is a household name in Calcutta & Surrounding Districts through its Wholesale & Retail trade.
